The Pre-Renal Initiative

Stanford's Pre-Renal Initiative seeks to develop a thriving research training program in adult and pediatric nephrology and (benign) urology for undergraduate students

VA Health Systems Research Internship

The virtual program is an 8-week, part-time, paid internship. Students will receive direct exposure to health services research by being paired with a mentor, working with research teams, attending professional development panels and workshops, and engaging in subject matter expert presentations.

AHEaD: Advancing Health Equity and Diversity

The AHEaD program is a 7-week summer program provides experience in population health research with the hope that undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds, including those underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, pursue further studies or careers in research. All are encouraged and welcome to apply.

US Department of Energy Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship and Community College Internship @ SLAC

The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is a world-renowned laboratory with research opportunities in physics, chemistry, materials and environmental sciences, astrophysics, scientific computing, and many engineering fields. SLAC’s summer internship program offers exciting opportunities for undergraduate students majoring in science or engineering to conduct research.

The Stanford Medical Youth Science Program

The Stanford Medical Youth Science Program is a five-week immersive enrichment program focused on science and medicine that is open to low-income, first-generation high school juniors who live in Northern California.

Sustainability, Engineering and Science - Undergraduate Research (SESUR)

The Sustainability, Engineering and Science - Undergraduate Research (SESUR) Program is a 10-week summer research program for Stanford undergraduates from any area of study who want to learn more about environmental science and the planet we live on. Students find a project - or propose one of their own - and work with a faculty member from the Doerr School of Sustainability in the lab or in the field (or remotely) through the summer

Stanford Summer Research Program (SSRP)

The SSRP-Amgen Scholars Program is a fully-funded research-intensive residential program that takes place on Stanford’s beautiful campus for a eight-week period. Participants are matched with a member of Stanford’s distinguished faculty and work in one of our state-of-the-art research facilities. Each participant works with both a faculty member and a lab mentor to craft a research project

ADVANCE Summer Institute

The ADVANCE Summer Institute is an intensive 8-week program for incoming and matriculated Biosciences graduate students. Through ADVANCE, we facilitate the smooth transition to becoming a Stanford Biosciences PhD student, laying the foundation for a successful and rewarding graduate experience. 

Stanford Center for Asian Health Research and Education (CARE) Scholars Program

The CARE Scholars Program is a 1-year virtual immersive research program focused on training the next generation of leaders in Asian health research, anchored by a 9-week summer research immersion in data science for vulnerable populations. This exceptional online program leverages the unique aspects of Stanford’s world-class research, technology, and medical infrastructure to train Scholars to become superb population science researchers.

Stanford Cancer Institute Undergraduate Summer Program

The Stanford Cancer Institute Undergraduate Summer Program combines mentored research experiences in Stanford Cancer Institute labs with scientific seminars and skill-building workshops. Its overarching goal is to provide hands-on lab experience to Stanford undergraduates interested in further exploring cancer-related career tracks. This is a six-week, in-person program funded by the Stanford Cancer Institute.

Stanford Engineering Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) is a fully funded, eight-week summer residential program that brings 30-35 talented and motivated undergraduate students from across the country and the world to Stanford Engineering for an immersive research and graduate school preparation experience.
